Anthony Grafton

Professor Anthony Grafton is a historian of early modern Europe, particularly the history of science, scholarship, and education. He is currently a professor of history at Princeton University, where he has been on the faculty since 1975. He is well known for his work on the history of classical scholarship and the transmission of classical texts during the Renaissance and Early Modern period. Professor Grafton has written numerous books and articles on these topics, and is considered one of the leading experts in the field. 

 

In addition to his work on the history of classical scholarship and the transmission of classical texts during the Renaissance and Early Modern period, Professor Anthony Grafton has also written extensively on the history of science and medicine during this time. He received many awards and honors for his contributions to the field of history. He is also a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the American Philosophical Society, and was elected a foreign member of the Royal Society.
