Advanced Schools General Directors
The IIAS advanced schools have had several general directors throughout their history. Some notable past general directors include:
- Edward Witten (1993-1999)
- Bert Sakmann (2003-2007)
- Gerald Fink (1997-2002)
- David Baltimore (1991-1997)
- the late Kenneth Arrow (1990-2007)
Each director has brought their own unique perspective and contributions to the particular school he was heading, as well as to the institute as a whole, helping to shape research focus and direction.
