This conference will be the concluding event of the Mandel Scholion Interdisciplinary Research Group (2013-2015) “Picture Power: Kings and Rulers in the Near East from 3000 BC to 1700 AD”. Scholars from various disciplines and backgrounds will join together to draw an enticing image of the intercultural dialogue taking place around the ruler’s iconography in the Near East, throughout five millennia of visual and literary history.
