Scholars at The Israel Institute for advanced studies come from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines, and their work spans the fields of mathematics, physics, computer science, humanities, and social sciences. Since its Foundation, The IIAS has hosted more than 160 Research Groups and over 1,300 Scholars from various Fields which have placed The IIAS at the forefront of academic life in Israel and abroad.
Free of their normal teaching obligations and administrative duties, their collaborative research at the IIAS enables them to engage in joint research projects as the launching-pad for a long-term interaction, eventually yielding outstanding results.
