Amir is a professor in the Department of Archaeology at the University of Chicago and Tel Aviv University. His research interests are: Late Bronze Age Northern Levant (with an emphasis on the archaeology, history and culture of Alalakh and Ugarit), and the archaeology and history of the Northern Levant during the Iron Age.
