Yuval Oreg is Professor of Theory of Condensed Matter Physics. Following postdoctoral research at Harvard University, Yuval came back to the Weizmann Institute in 2001 to establish his own group. Yuval’s research focuses on collective effects of electrons motion in nano-scale systems. In particular, his theoretical studies paved the way for experiments that show evidence for the presence of Majorana fermions – states of particles that are their own antiparticles – in quantum wires.
